You can access this course in two ways:
1. Email Course
This forms the main structure of the course.
Once you sign up for the emails, each day you’ll receive one short email. The email course lasts for 78 days and takes you one-by-one through each card in the tarot.
Some days you’ll have more time, other days you might have less. Whether you’re snatching five short minutes or making more time to sit down with your cards, each day, you have different options:
If you have just five minutes:
Grab the card from your deck and read the email – you’ll learn keywords and symbols for the card, and a brief overview of what the card might be saying to you in a tarot reading.
If you have ten minutes:
Grab the card from your deck, then click through to the library to read a more in-depth discussion of the cards meaning and how you might interpret it.
If you have more time:
Grab your card, read the full lesson, then choose a Journal Prompt to help you explore the card in more depth.
The cards are presented in order in three sections, so you’ll start with the Fool, and work through the Major Arcana first, then on the the Minor Arcana and the four suits, and finally, the Court Cards.
As you learn about a new card each day, you’ll see patterns and themes emerging, connections with other cards, building up a picture of the deck as a whole.
There is the option to take a break at the end of each section. If you choose to do this, you can visit the Emails page at any time to pick up where you left off.
2. Explore the Library
This website contains a Library of tarot card meanings. You have lifetime access to this resource, to browse as often as you like.
This site is mobile-friendly, so you can access the Library any time. Use it just like a book to look up card meanings when doing readings, or as a companion resource for the Alternative Tarot Course.
Using this site
All pages can be accessed via the Contents page, so if you become lost, head back here to pick up where you left off! If you are using a mobile device, the Contents page is accessible via the menu at the top of your screen.
All card meanings pages have a sidebar menu to the right that is specific to that card. All Major Arcana cards, for example, show the entire Major Arcana menu in the sidebar. This enables you to easily compare cards in sequence or explore each section in more detail. The sidebar menu appears below page content on mobile devices.
Here you will also find links to the three sections of the course: Major Arcana, Minor Arcana and Court Cards. This allows you to skip back to the start of any section when you need to.
At any time, you can visit the Journalling Prompts page and choose any prompt from the list. These are intended as kick-starters for your own ideas, prompts to get your juices flowing and help you to dig into the card. It is not essential to complete this exercise every day, but if you make time for this, it will help you to remember the cards better and to form your own personal interpretations.
